Whoa! This is kind of a big deal.
And speaking of deals, it seems Tyler Perry and Lionsgate are calling theirs off. The association, which dates back to 2005, has ended and will not be renewed.
With the announcement, the actor-writer-producer-director is closing the Los Angeles offices of his 34th Street Films, consolidating operations at his Atlanta headquarters. Expect for some jobs to be lost, but Matt Moore, exec vp of 34th Street is staying on, sources tell the Hollywood Reporter
Even though his 2008 First-look deal with Lionsgate is done, Perry isn’t exactly done with Lionsgate just yet. The company is releasing “The Single Moms Club,” Perry’s next film, on March 14. And don’t be surprised to see a few more Madea movies that are already in the development pipeline.
