Brittney Reese Sets Record With U.S. Olympic Trials Women’s Long Jump Win

Not only did Brittney Reese secure her spot on Team USA during this weekend’s Olympic trials, but she also set an Olympic trials long jump record.

With a jump of 23 feet, 11 and three-quarter inches Saturday at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials, Reese won her seventh national outdoor title and third trip to the Olympics. And with that jump, she had the ninth-farthest jump ever and second-farthest in U.S. history and broke Jackie Joyner-Kersee’s record set in 1988.

Take a look at Reese’s video diary before the trials and watch her proudly display her medal after her monumental win. Make sure you follow #ReesesRoadtoRio on Twitter, and keep a look out for future updates from Reese!
